WORKSHOPS:
Workshop A
Mental Health and young people
Hayley Wilson (CAMHS) and Adam Deuchars (AWP)
From now onwards, MANs meetings will be combining with Public Health to include a question and answer “surgery” looking at what YOU want to know about the different issues and understandings that surround mental ill health for children and young people. This workshop will be facilitated by our own experts from within Families in Focus, Hayley Wilson and Adam Deuchars who are respectively the Primary and Adult Mental Health Specialists within the team. We would like any questions in advance and so please contact me at
ian.bowen@bristol.gov.uk and we will include them if we can. So far, we have questions about Eating Disorders, Bipolar Affective Disorder and Depression in Primary School children.
Workshop B
Working with Children who have witnessed Domestic Violence or Abuse
See Change Bristol
This workshop will help you to learn more about working with Children and Young People who have witnessed DVA within their homes. See Changes’ children and young person’s domestic violence and abuse service is made up of a specialist team who offer practical and emotional support, They support children to explore their feelings and help them to understand what they have been through, know they are not to blame, help them to stay safe and let them know where they can turn to if they need more help.
Workshop C
No Workshop
If you do not wish to attend either workshop, that is of course absolutely fine, but please let us know so that we are aware of what numbers to expect on the day.
