What is Career Challenge Day?
Career Challenge Day is hosted by Vermont Works for Women and GMTCC. It is a free, one-day career exploration event for middle school girls and gender non-conforming youth in grades 6-7-8.The event introduces girls and gender non-conforming students to a range of careers that they may not traditionally be exposed to, and allows students to explore opportunities available to them at GMTCC in a safe, fun, and empowering way. There is limited space available for this program and sign up is on a first come basis throughout the state. We will do our best to provide this opportunity to students who have indicated interest

Event Details:
Students visit GMTCC classrooms, participate in a hands-on activity in each program and meet teachers, staff, and current students. They learn about tech center opportunities, with a special focus on programs nontraditional for girls and gender non-conforming youth. VWW organizes welcome and closing activities to create a culture of exploration, confidence, and positive risk-taking. Our goal is for students to leave feeling empowered to dream big about their futures.
Full-day field trip: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm

GMTCC provides lunch
Sending schools to arrange transportation to and from GMTCC
This event is open to all girls and gender non-conforming youth in GMTCC’s sending area, not just those interested in going to GMTCC!
