King of the Hill Game Day Event Registration

Important Event Information & Guidelines

Please review the following schedule and rules before completing your registration:

  • Check-In Schedule: Doors open at 11:00 AM for mandatory player check-in. Check-in strictly closes at 11:45 AM. Failure to check in by 11:45 AM will result in forfeiting your controller slot.
  • Tournament Time: The King of the Hill marathon runs from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • Player Limit: Registration is strictly capped at 20 competitors on a first-come, first-served basis. 25 players will be able to sign up. The last 5 players will be put on standby. 
  • Age & ID Requirements (Mortal Kombat is Rated M):
  • Ages 17+: May register independently but must present a valid ID at check-in.
  • Under 17: Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who remains present for the entire duration of the event.

Spectators: Free and welcome! Spectator seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis (no registration required for spectators). All Gamers will be moved to the gaming section.

Terms & Conditions

By registering as a competitor for the King of the Hill Game Day at the Newberry Opera House, you (or your parent/guardian, if applicable) agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Age & Identification Requirements

M-Rating Awareness: You acknowledge that Mortal Kombat is rated M for Mature by the ESRB and contains intense violence, blood, and gore.

Participants Ages 17+: You must present a valid, government-issued photo ID at check-in to verify your age. Failure to provide ID will result in forfeiture of your registration slot.

Participants Under 17: You must have a parent or legal guardian present at check-in. The parent or guardian must remain on the premises for the entire duration of your participation in the event.

2. Attendance, Schedule, and Forfeiture

Check-In Window: Doors open at 11:00 AM. You must check in at the registration desk no later than 11:45 AM.

Forfeiture: If you have not checked in by 11:45 AM, your registration will be canceled, and your exclusive controller slot will be given to a standby player.

Designated Areas: Upon check-in, all registered competitors must remain in the designated Gamer Section unless authorized by staff.

3. Code of Conduct & Sportsmanship

The Newberry Opera House maintains a family-friendly environment in its public areas. Toxic behavior, excessive profanity, verbal abuse, physical aggression, or destruction of venue/gaming property will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the premises without warning.

4. Media and Photography Release

By participating, you grant the Newberry Opera House the right to photograph, film, or live-stream your participation in the event. You agree that these materials may be used for promotional, marketing, or archival purposes on social media, websites, or print without financial compensation.

5. Limitation of Liability

You agree to release, waive, and hold harmless the Newberry Opera House, its staff, volunteers, city entities, and equipment providers from any liability, claims, or demands for personal injury, property damage, or loss occurring during or as a result of your participation in this event.
