Welcome to Adamsville PTO! We are looking forward to a great school year! Adamsville School has the reputation of having a GREAT PTO. This is due to the active involvement of our families and faculty, who take the time and join together to do wonderful things for our children and school. Volunteering opportunities come in many shapes and sizes! And, at Adamsville, we have a great variety of ways in which you can become involved in your children’s school. Whether you offer to chair an event or fundraiser, become a classroom parent, or just provide some much needed assistance to get our activities up and running, your time is always well spent and greatly appreciated! Please review the list below and check the activities you would like to chair or volunteer. We thank you for your involvement and contributions throughout the year.

Barnes & Noble Night (February)
Plan and organize event in coordination with Barnes & Noble representative in February(night event)
Birthday Bulletin Board (Ongoing)
Volunteers will design the bulletin board in the main hallway highlighting student’s birthdays on a monthly basis.
Board of Ed Representative (Ongoing)
Volunteers represent our PTO at monthly Board of Education meetings and report back at the monthly Adamsville PTO meeting.
BOGO Book Sale (June)
Volunteers help plan and run this one night “BUY ONE GET ONE FREE” book sale for students, parents and teachers
Box Tops Coordinator (Ongoing)
Advertise collection and coordinate shipments to vendor throughout the year.
Breakfast with Dad (October)
Event held before the school day starts for PreK – 2nd grade students and a “special person”. Volunteers help provide food, set up and/or help serve and clean up the morning of the breakfast.
Campbell Soup Label Coordinator (Ongoing)
Advertise collection and coordinate shipments to vendor throughout the year.
Chuck E Cheese Night (April)
Chairperson will schedule and coordinate dates with Chuck E. Cheese for this weekday evening event and distribute information advertising the event.
Class Trip Committee (Ongoing)
Volunteers work with faculty to research curriculum related on-site assemblies and off-site grade level class trips, and provide scheduling and coordination support.
Cultural Arts Committee (Ongoing)
This committee will help research and arrange 2 – 3 curriculum related and education enhancing assemblies for the children throughout the year.
DCCI Committee (Ongoing)
Volunteers attend 1 – 3 district curriculum committee meetings and report any new developments to the PTO.
Food Advisory Committee (Ongoing)
Volunteers represent Adamsville by attending 1 – 3 district food advisory committee meetings and report any new developments to the PTO.
Fourth Grade Send-Off (June)
Volunteers will coordinate this 4th graders send-off to Hillside including planning this in-school event, set-up, clean-up, and food.
Gertrude Hawk Candy Sale (March)
Volunteers distribute information/order forms for the sale, place orders with vendor and distribute orders when delivered.
Gift Wrap Sale (September - October)
Our largest fundraiser. Volunteers distribute information and order forms for the sale, collect money, place order with vendor and distribute orders when delivered.
Halloween Event (October)
One of our biggest family events. Volunteers help set-up, decorate, serve refreshments, run the event, and clean up afterwards.
Healthy Heart Dance (February)
An evening event where the gym teachers lead students and parents in fun dances. Volunteers set-up, serve healthy refreshments and clean-up afterwards.
Homeroom Parent (Ongoing)
Volunteers assist the teachers in running class parties and holding specialty activities.
Ice Cream Social (June)
Chairperson coordinates event, orders ice cream from a local vendor and schedules volunteers to assist in set-up, serving and clean-up before, during and after the event.
Coupon Book (KidStuff/Save Around) (October)
Volunteers are needed to assist in the collection, consolidation, and distribution of orders during this one-time sale of “Entertainment-type” coupon books to Adamsville families.
Outdoor Garden & Beautification (Ongoing)
Help keep Adamsville beautiful! A teacher/parent committee that helps plant and maintain the outdoor garden.
Outside Message Board (Ongoing)
Chairperson organizes volunteers to post announcements and birthdays on the Community Board in front of the school. Volunteers assist on a monthly basis.
P.J. Party (December)
An event where students come dressed in their pajamas and teacher/staff volunteers read books to children. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate, set-up, serve-donated refreshments, and clean up.
Plant Sale (September and/or March)
Event where children can purchase plants during the school day. Pre-orders are also taken. Volunteers are needed to assist the students during the sale and to distribute pre-ordered flowers.
Public Relations (Ongoing)
Volunteers work with school committee on internal and external communications regarding Adamsville School and PTO events.
Scholarship Committee (Ongoing)
Volunteers represent the PTO at 3 district-wide meetings and select district high school students deserving scholarships.
Scholastic Book Fair (November - December)
Volunteers assist with this five-day book fair including set-up, assisting students as they shop during school hours and clean up.
Spirit Gear (Fall)
Volunteers assist chairperson with promoting, placing and distributing Spirit Gear orders.
TAC Committee (Ongoing)
Volunteers represent Adamsville by attending 1 – 3 district transportation advisory committee meetings and report any new developments to the PTO
Teacher Appreciation Breakfast (May)
PTO volunteers provide a continental breakfast during National Teacher Appreciation Week. Volunteers organize meal, solicit donations, set-up and clean up.
Teacher’s Parent Conference Dinner (November)
PTO Volunteers provide a buffet dinner for our teachers during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Volunteers organize meal, solicit donations, set-up and clean up.
Teacher’s Welcome Back Luncheon (September)
PTO Volunteers provide a buffet luncheon that treats the faculty the day before school opens. Volunteers organize meal, solicit donations, set-up and clean up.
Variety Show (March/April)
Co-Chairperson’s coordinate acts for Friday evening show. Volunteers assist as stagehands, back stage help, snacks, set-up, clean-up, & sound system.
Volleyball Game (January)
Game between Adamsville staff and staff from other schools. Volunteers coordinate game and ticket sales, sell spirit items, set up and clean up.
Walk-A-Thon (April)
A school day event where children solicit pledges for participation. Volunteers develop theme, coordinate pledge process and man the track.
Adamsville PTO Site Webmaster
A volunteer able to maintain a simple website for our PTO’s communication use.
Yearbook (Ongoing)
Volunteers work with vendor on producing this yearly ”book of memories”. Volunteers are needed to take photographs at functions throughout the year, help layout and assemble the yearbook.
