The Sierra Monarch Rescue Flyway Corridor Project spans approximately 270 miles across the Sierra foothills, including El Dorado, Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Placer, Nevada, Yuba, and San Joaquin Counties.
Registered Flyway Land Steward sites may receive:
• technical assistance
• habitat site surveys
• milkweed and pollinator plant distribution
• guidance for establishing habitat that supports the Sierra Monarch Flyway
This is part of a 10-year research and restoration project designed to increase nutritious habitat for migrating pollinators traveling between the Central Valley and the Sierra foothills. Participating land steward sites will contribute monitoring data to help track pollinator activity and habitat success across the corridor.
