Location - MCC at Southern & Dobson Campus - 1833 W. Southern Ave., Mesa

Schedule - Varies; Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, 19.50 hours a week

Pay scale - $17.00/hour Timeframe: Fall and Spring semester

Position not eligible for benefits


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Be a student at Mesa Community College (minimum of 6 credit hours)
  2. Received federal financial aid (Pell Grant) from Mesa Community College
  3. Available to work the 2024-2025 academic year
  4. Interested in youth tutoring, mentoring and education, and/or working as an educator
  5. Able to pass a background check and/or obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  6. Have your own transportation to the school/site where you will be working
  7. Attend mandatory meetings weekly, day and time to be determined

Job Duties:
The role of an America Reads Tutor is to academically support local Kindergarten-8th grade students. Tutors may be assigned to work with students in a variety of settings including one-on-one, and small-group. Tutors may also work in before and/or after school programs depending upon their availability. Tutors primarily provide support in the areas of reading, writing, and/or math.
