Chicago Desi Youth Rising (CDYR) Application
Chicago Desi Youth Rising (CDYR) seeks to activate Chicago youth to combat racial, economic, and social inequity. CDYR is a four day summer leadership retreat for youth ages 15 – 21 who trace their heritage to South Asia and the diaspora, and who want to grow as changemakers. Participants draw upon their diverse experiences and intersectional identities while they examine and challenge the underlying causes of their communities’ problems and conditions to become agents for social change.

Now more than ever it’s important that we mobilize our communities to take action. In that spirit, we have developed a new Mobilization Action Fund so that CDYR participants can apply the knowledge and skills gained during this retreat. During the 2018 - 2019 school year, CDYR participants will have the opportunity to apply for small grants to lead local organizing campaigns and projects within their communities.

This year's four day, three night retreat will be held on August 9-12, 2018 at the University of Chicago. Overnight accommodations will be provided on campus.
