Kinetic Kids' EXPO (formerly know as the Try It Before You Buy It) is an Equipment, Service and Resource fair including companies, services and organizations that serve the special needs population.
This event will be open to the public and an especially GREAT RESOURCE for therapists in the community.

8:30am-11:30am-- Tobii Dynavox: Specific to Speech Pathologists, but all are welcome! Come explore in the Tobii Dynavox Discovery Lab! Using lecture and case studies, participants will LEARN about communication, access and education solutions for students with complex needs. You will then make your way through 3 interactive lab stations and DO guided hands-on activities exploring switches, buttons, eye gaze and more. Opportunities to APPLY your knowledge in practical ways will be provided. Each participant will leave the session with a handful of resources and practical tips that can be used the very next day! *Limited to 15 therapists. A second session may be made available if more register.

8:30am-10:30am Invacare: 24 hour Posture Management The 24-hour posture management approach considers the individual’s posture, comfort and function over all 24 hours in the day. There is evidence that references the influence that lying postures have on the seated posture of an individual and how the factors are compounded by gravity and ultimately impact on an individual’s functional ability. 1) Describe 24 hour Posture Management 2) Describe “good” and “poor” posture. 3) List the effects of “poor” posture. 4) Describe how to build a stable posture in Lying. 5) Describe how to build a stable posture in Sitting.
