Are you interested in turning your building into an affordable co-op?
UHAB has limited capacity to work with organized groups of tenants in New York City who are organizing to take control of their buildings and become affordable limited-equity co-ops. If you'd like to speak with a staff member, please complete the following short form about you and your building, and we'll do our best to get back to you.

What's next?
A tenant purchase is still relatively tricky to do, and requires a lot of organizing from the residents. We don’t currently have the mechanisms to make this a right for tenants, which is why we’ve been fighting for the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase (TOPA) and the Community Opportunity to Purchase (COPA)! The legislation has existed in DC for nearly 50 years, and would give tenants the right to purchase their building any time it goes up for sale. We’re building a coalition to fight for this legislation, and would love for you to join us!
Can we reach out to you about organizing for TOPA and COPA? *
