The Waltrip High School Ram Band will be hosting the 13th Annual JAZZ@1900 Music Festival. This letter goes out to all interested Elementary, Middle and High School Jazz Band Directors as an invitation to participate. This event will take place at Waltrip High School:

Saturday, April 13th – 8:00am - 6:00pm – Open to Big Bands and Combos/ Special Guest Artist Concert at approx. 7:00pm. An awards ceremony will immediately follow the special guest artist concert. Our guest artist this year is Wayne Bergeron, Yamaha Performing Artist on Trumpet.

The Festival must be funded through an entry fee for all participating bands at $200.00 per group. This fee does not have to be turned in with entry, but must be paid by February 28, 2019. Please fill out this Google Form as soon as possible to reserve a performance slot for your band(s). We are in the process of selecting a panel of judges that will rate the bands in a positive manner for all participants. We will have trophies for 1st and 2nd division rated bands and will also have special all-star awards for outstanding soloists. The Festival concert will begin with a special performance by the Stephen F. Austin University Swingin' Axes, under the direction of Dr. Deb Scott. There will be more info to follow…. Please complete your registration by February 8, 2019. Make all checks payable to "Waltrip Ram Band" or Houston ISD schools can submit a HISD Transfer of Expenditures Request Form.
