Our next event is slated for Jacksonville, Florida, November 1-4th, 2017. Time schedules will be scheduled closer to these event dates.
A: A volunteer’s main responsibility is to support the event team by assisting with event set-up and tear-down, tickets, registration, and various workshop projects. Volunteers assist by ushering and guiding guests and attendees.
Q: What is the time commitment for volunteering at events?
A: For those volunteering at on-site events, the commitment is anywhere from 1to 3 days depending on the event. Volunteers are required to attend training, orientation, and set-up day (which is the day before the event) and then serve on shift for the duration of the event. Shifts are either an scheduled for AM or PM and typically 2 to 8 hours per day.

A: Volunteers are considered a member of the staff while on-site. During your shift, your assignment is to support the event team, festival guest and attendees needs. Volunteers are welcome to attend most of the scheduled programs when not on shift.

A: It is the responsibility of the volunteer to find their own lodging. Volunteers can take advantage of the festival group rate at the Omni Hotel, when there is availability, or stay at any local hotel.
Q: What are the steps I need to take to become a volunteer?
A: The first step is to complete the volunteer application, which is below. After your application is received, the World Arts Film Festival volunteer coordinator will contact you about the next step.
Every volunteer is appreciated with our deepest gratitude.
