The Northeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (NECCOG), in partnership with the Connecticut Main Street Center, is launching a Regional Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Community Assessment Audit, and we are asking each CRCOG member community to participate.
Developed by Main Street America in collaboration with the Kauffman Foundation, this assessment is designed to help community leaders better understand and strengthen the conditions that support entrepreneurship, particularly in downtown and commercial districts. The audit will evaluate overall regional strengths and opportunities, identify individual community assets and gaps, and begin to illuminate potential strategies for strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems both locally and across the region.
Survey results will be compiled and shared in a regional presentation, expected in Summer 2026. More than one person from each municipality is encouraged to complete the assessment, as multiple perspectives strengthen the results.
The audit takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, depending on the level of detail provided in the optional open‑ended responses. The deadline to complete the survey is July 31, 2026.
