TNR REQUEST (Trap-Neuter-Return)
Operation Hood offers assistance with TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) in our community. In order for a TNR Project to be successful a "Plan" must be set in place for the project to run smoothly. There is more to TNR than just simply trapping the cat. A successful TNR plan must consist of the following: Coordinating the trapping, setting up the TNR appointment(s), transporting the cat(s) to and from the appointment, and aftercare of the cat(s) during recovery.

Our organization is not a shelter and we do not have the means to take in cats/kittens. Our mission is TNR - Trap-Neuter-Return. Our volunteers are not paid staff and we do not have a holding facility for cats. We depend on the support of the community and our dedicated volunteers that give of their time to educate and assist with TNR projects to help community cats in our area. Please see the form below regarding your TNR request. We do ask for your support in this process to help make the process successful.

We are working with Dr. Coleman who operates the Celtic Cat Mobile Veterinary Clinic. The TNR package includes: An exam once the cat is sedated before surgery, the spay or neuter, a 1yr rabies vaccine and the left ear is tip. The left ear being tipped is used to help identify cats who have been spayed/neutered once they have been released back where they were trapped. This makes it easier to identify strays that may not be TNR'd. The cost for the TNR Package is - $70.00 *Additional fees may occur if the cat needs further treatment such as wound care, flea meds, dewormer medication, antibiotics, and pain medication.

We want community cats to have the care they deserve and to live a happy and healthy life with their colony and care givers. We understand that everyone may not have the means to financially afford the entire costs but we appreciate donations that are placed back into our efforts for TNR to help community cats.
