BL84 is an unnamed species in the genus Bosea. It was originally isolated from biofilms within Kaūmana Cave on Hawaiʻi Island.

Species notes:
Genes encoding for N-acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs) have been detected in this organism, suggesting it is capable of quorum sensing, a type of chemical communication which allow bacteria to sense and coordinate activities with other members of the biofilm communities they inhabit.
