Scale Up 2025 - Application Form
Hi there! This form is for you to register your Transition Group in participating in our Scale Up Programme.

Overview

Scale Up is a modular programme designed to support existing Transition Groups to scale up a particular activity or project, or transform a particular issue that will in itself lead to a scale up of impact. Introducing a new project or service alongside your existing activities could also count as a form of scaling up. Whether it is a block or barrier that needs shifting or transforming, or general support in the process of scaling up activity and impact, this programme is designed to support your group towards creating systemic change.

Transition Together is offering up to approximately 10 Transition Groups* the opportunity to participate in our Scale Up 2025 Programme.  Each group will be required to enrol either two or three members that will be able to attend their selected modules, as we have found that this is the best way to implement the learnings and opportunities on offer.

*To be eligible for Scale Up you need to be applying on behalf of a Transition Group based in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and registered with the Transition Network.

The Programme

The Programme consists of 3 parts. The offer is modular, which means that Transition Groups are eligible to apply for 1, 2 or all 3 parts of the programme, depending on what best suits your group’s needs.

Module 1. Scale Up Residential (Details TBC)

This is a two-day experiential training where we will be getting to know each other and building a dynamic learning environment for the Scale-Up 2025 Cohort. Participants will be working with facilitators to explore the conditions, resources and processes required to scale up their Transition Group’s impact or activity, set key objectives and map out a pathway to achieve this. There will be peer-to-peer learning sessions, explorations of how to foster a learning culture within your transition group, and training in key tools to support scaling up.

Further details of the Scale Up Residential will be released mid-January 2025, but the training is likely to run Thursday 13th - Friday 14th February, with an option for those travelling from far away to arrive in the evening of Wednesday 12th February at no extra cost.

Accommodation and food is covered by Transition Network, and travel bursaries are available for those that require them. Accommodation will be same-gender multi-occupancy rooms (maximum of 3 people per room), but individual rooms may be available if you have specific medical or accessibility needs.

Module 2. Scale Up Online Action-Learning Programme

A series of Online Action Learning Sessions, followed by a presentation and celebration session, where you will receive input from experts in different aspects of scaling projects and work together as a cohort in peer-to-peer action learning sessions.

Session 1: 7-9pm Mon, 24th February

Session 2: 7-9pm Mon, 10th March

Session 3: 7-9pm Mon, 24th March

Module 3. Scale-Up Mentoring

Receive a voucher for £500 to cover the cost of mentoring / services to work with an expert/mentor in a field of your choosing.  The value of the voucher could be split between different providers - for example £250 on a bespoke training session on group decision-making, and £250 on 3 mentoring sessions. Transition Together will support the contracting of services for which Transition Groups can choose from a number of recommended trainers and facilitators, or Transition Groups can identify their own provider.

The only prerequisites are that:

- The voucher must be redeemed (spent) by Monday, 24th March 2025

- The voucher must be redeemed towards activities/training which will provide support for Transition Groups to scale up their activity or impact.

- If the value of the voucher is exceeded by the cost of services commissioned, the Transition Group makes up the difference.

A full list of recommended mentors and facilitators will be released in January 2025. Transition Groups are not restricted by this list and are open to commissioning other professionals to support them to scale up, however Transition Together will not be able to advise on the calibre or attributes of individuals and organisations that are not on this list.

What kinds of activity could be commissioned with the Scale Up Voucher?

Transition Together aims to be flexible and responsive to varied and emerging needs, giving the Transition Groups autonomy in choosing what kinds of activity they may choose to commission.  However, some examples of activities we envisage include: Bespoke Training, Mentorship, Facilitation, Conflict Resolution, Website Design/Building etc.

Application Process

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and Transition Together aims to respond to all applications within 2 weeks.

Scale Up Applications open 12pm (noon) on Monday 6th January.

The final application deadline has been extended until is 12pm (noon) on Monday, 17th February 2025 but the programme may close before this subject to demand.
