We’re excited to begin preparations for the 2026–2027 Cub Scouting season with Paris Pack 112, our Cub Scout Pack based in Paris, France.

Whether you are a returning Scout or considering joining us for the first time, please take a moment to fill out this Interest Form to help us plan for the new year. You will then receive more info and the locations of our two first events.

This year we are planning two events to start off the new season:

Saturday, September 5, 2026, 2-4 pm:

First Fall Pack Meeting, where you will be able to meet leaders, old and new scouts and register. We plan a fun event where old and new scouts will meet and start working on completing their first adventure! Leaders will be there to help you with your registration.

Sunday, September 20, 2026, Welcome Hike: 

Let’s hit the trail together to celebrate the start of a new year! Please bring: Proper footwear, a water bottle, a snack to share and Scouting gear or Pack T-shirt (if you have it).

Welcome to Paris Pack 112!

Who are We? 

Cub Scouts is a fun and educational program for children (boys and girls), ages 5 to 11. It is part of Scouting America, which is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, established in 1910. Our Pack 112 is an international, English-speaking Cub Scout pack located in Paris, France. We are part of the Transatlantic Council, bringing together all packs that exist outside of the Unites States.

What can we do for you? 

Are you looking for a fun and meaningful activity for your child in English? If your child is between 5 and 11 years old, that is, in Kindergarten (GS) through 5th grade (CM2), then Cub Scouting is for you! We are especially looking for new lions (children in Kindergarten) to join our pack.

Please note that your child will be placed in a den, based on grade level, not based on where you live. There are no area-specific dens.

What do we expect from you?

Paris Pack 112 welcomes boys and girls from multinational families, representing a wide range of nationalities, ethnicities, and religious backgrounds. It is a prerequisite that all new joining scouts are able to communicate and understand English as this is the common language of our pack. Bringing together expat Americans, multinational families and locals, our common goal is that we all communicate with each other in English.

What Is Cub Scouting?

Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program that offers fun and challenging activities designed to promote character development, leadership, and physical fitness. Through positive peer interaction and active parent involvement, children learn key values such as honesty, bravery, respect, and responsibility.

Parental Involvement

Cub Scouts is not a drop-off program. A parent or guardian must stay and supervise their child during all den (age-group) and pack (whole group) meetings.

Parents are active participants, helping with adventures, attending meetings, and even organizing or hosting den activities. Cub Scouts is a shared experience where parents and children grow together, and where adults can also form meaningful friendships.

What Do Cub Scouts Do?

Pack 112 offers a wide variety of activities, including:

• Pinewood Derby (build and race wooden cars) & Fundraiser Lunch
• Lego Building Event
• Blue & Gold Scout Anniversary Celebration
• Outdoor Day Trips & Nature Adventures
• Community Service Projects
• …and much more!

How do meetings work?

Your Cub Scout will be part of two groups, their "den", which consists of children in the same grade, such as the lion den for Kindergarten/GS kids. All parents and leaders help each other out during meetings, usually with their den leader(s) in charge of the group. One parent per child always stays during the meeting to help and assist their child and other children. Meetings can take place at a family home, a park or a museum, or wherever the den decides.

The other group is the "pack", which consists of all dens together. These meetings are larger, usually planned in advance and mostly take place at the same location(s). The address of the location is communicated through a secured site called Scoutbook. On average, families participate in one den meeting OR one pack meeting per month.

During the year, Cub Scouts complete adventures to earn belt loops, pins, and badges, all proudly displayed on their uniforms.

Where Do We Meet?

As mentioned above, dens (age specific group) meet in parks, homes, or other venues, not based on geographic location but based on whichever location the den and its leaders and parents agree upon. This gives families a great opportunity to discover areas around the city.

Pack meetings (for all scouts) take place across Paris, with a slight focus on the western part of the city.

What`s expected from parents?

- Support the den and pack as needed

- Help your child with advancement

- Attend pack meetings and support your Scout´s achievements

- Assist during den meetings

- Join family campouts

- Volunteer at least once per year (e.g. organizing an activity, helping with meals or cleanup, supervising children, etc.)

How much are the annual fees and how does registration work?

As we are part of the US organization Scouting America (formerly BSA) there are certain rules and obligations to follow, which may feel a bit daunting at first, but don´t worry, we´ve all been there! Our volunteer leaders are happy to guide you through the process if needed.

As members of Scouting America the Pack and its members benefit from access to a robust online training and advancement program, assistance, international camps and insurance coverage.

You will pay two different fees, one to your local pack, Pack 112 Paris, (in euros), and one to our American counterpart Scouting America (in US dollars). 

Information on how to pay both fees will be provided after you complete this interest form. It will also be shared at our first Pack meeting, see info above.

For reference, in 2025-26, total costs were approximately 300 euros, though this may increase slightly due to exchange rates, raised national fees and bank fees.

New families will need to register and create a profile on Scoutbook, Scouting America´s Online Advancement and Communication Platform. We use Scoutbook to share calendars, updates, locations, and program details.

Returning scouts will pay their Scouting America fees directly, based on their individual renewal date. Your family´s annual fee may vary slightly depending on your original registration timing.

From time to time, families may be asked to contribute a small fee for certain activities, such as food at overnight camp outs, museum entrance fees, special events hosted by outside providers, like our annual LEGO event.

Deadlines and important dates:

• Sept, 3, 2026: Please complete this form to receive more information.

• Sept 5, 2026: First Fall Pack Meeting, Registration Forms and Assistance will be available.

• Sept, 20, 2026: Please complete registration forms by September 20.

• Sept 20, 2026: Welcome Hike. Your first event as a new Cub Scout Family (complete this form and we will get back to you with precise info and location).

• Sept 20, 2026: Pay pack fees and Scouting America registration fees by September 20, 2026.

Before registering with Scouting America, ensure your child has a confirmed spot in the appropriate grade-level den. Please note: these fees are non-refundable.

• Sept 26-27, 2026: The first Pack Camp Out Event is planned for September 2026. The location will be sent to those who are fully registered. It will take place fairly close to Paris, you can get there by train, however for the very last bit you need an uber or a ride.
