Styling Your Academic Writing (5-session series)
This five-session series will equip you with the tools to take your academic writing style to the next level. 
  • Clear It Up (Jan 13th, 2025) -- clarify your meaning in complex sentences.
  • Help It Flow (Jan 14th, 2025) -- enhance the cohesion and coherence of your sentences and paragraphs. 
  • Word It Well (Jan 15th, 2025) -- use precise and effective language to increase clarity and thick description
  • Trip It Down (Jan 16th, 2025) -- cut down your word count so that every word matters 
  • Make It Shine (Jan 17th, 2025) -- explore rhetorical devices and have fun with punctuation
This interactive workshop series will offer diverse and creative methods for styling writing. We will engage with examples from academic, technical, and public writing to get us thinking about the context of impactful and persuasive style.

Dates:  Mon, 13th through Fri, Jan 17th (1-2:15pm)

This series is tailored to suit the needs of MIT students and postdoctoral scholars across disciplines as well as researchers and other scholars.
