Call for proposals: Community Art Workshop
As a community-based art studio, a goal of ours is to support local artists in engaging the community; as a means of introducing their work to the public as well as creating space for collaboration and outreach in their artistic practice. To that end, we are currently accepting proposals for donation-based art workshops for adults as part of our Community Art Workshop series. These workshops will run throughout the year on Saturdays from 3-6pm, starting on May 16, 2020. Artists may elect to receive up to 50% of all workshop donations.

We are interested in projects that will appeal to adults with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience levels. They should introduce participants to a new material or technique, or provide a unique opportunity for exploration and experimentation. We welcome proposals that incorporate your own artistic practice, as these workshops are also great opportunities for you to explore your work through a lens of collaboration and community-building. Community Art Workshops are drop-in, meaning participants might come and go throughout the three hours.

Our studio facilities include: a slop sink, projector, adjustable-height tables, stools, lots of natural light, small drying rack, and a wide variety of art materials. A staff member will be present throughout the workshop to coordinate with the public, and help facilitate the workshop. Beer, wine, and snacks will be provided.

If your workshop is selected, we will coordinate time for you to come by and check out the space ahead of time. We will ask you for promotional text one month before your scheduled workshop date and a finalized materials list and workshop outline two weeks ahead of the workshop.
