Have you ever wondered about the various types of institutions and the different faculty positions within those institutions? What is the difference between tenure and non-tenure track faculty positions? How can you align your values with your professional goals and the available opportunities? This workshop will answer these questions and provide you with an overview of the landscape of higher education in the United States. You will also get an opportunity to ask questions and transfer what you learn in this workshop into the particulars of your own disciplines and fields of study. There will be some time to discuss what you are learning with peers in breakout rooms. A list of questions to ask in an informational interview will also be provided after the session.
