Creative Nonfiction: Writing from Life.2020
Creative Nonfiction: Writing from Life
A creative writing class for adults to share stories about themselves or the women in their lives. Marriages, childhood, affairs, death--this is what lives are made of. How do we write about relationships? In this workshop, participants will read and write, learning how to craft your own memories or experiences (or those of others) into a work of creative nonfiction.
This is a generative craft workshop: in-class writing exercises and immediate feedback will help inspire and hone your writing process. By the end, you'll have a short piece of writing for yourself or to include in the Little Compton Historical Society Women's History Project.
Thursdays, Oct 29-Dec 3 (skip Thanksgiving week)
Students will receive an email confirming that they have been registered in the class.
A link to the virtual classroom and a welcome email a few days before classes begin.
This class is hosted by Little Compton Historical Society and School One, an independent high school with a writing center that serves students of all ages. Classes are free, funded by a grant from Aroha Philanthropies as part of their new online learning program.
