freeskewl Registration: solo practice as performance: getting out // to get in // to // get out with Julie Mayo
Sunday, May 23, 11am-2pm EDT // $25
*LIMITED TO 12 PARTICIPANTS, registration closes at 11:59pm FRIDAY, MAY 21*

ABOUT:
In this workshop we will experiment with solo practice in an *intimate,* small group virtual space. Culling from my own dance-making practice, influenced by many, both inside and outside dance, I offer an assemblage of many “mini" practices that encourage our bold and spontaneous selves, in tandem with our more conditioned, rational selves.

Owning the complexity of getting out of our own way to get closer to our perceptual responsiveness, we'll use a layered approach towards various ways of being in performance with moving, sounding and speaking. Working "alone/together," we'll share our solo practice as performance tracking what interests us, while remaining open to the possibility of surprising ourselves. Sharing in conversation will be an integral part of our practice.
