Sonido Sounds Beginner/Advanced Beginner Strings

TUESDAYS 5:15-6:00pm Advanced beginner Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello in Room B3. Next session: October 29, 2024. For students with at least 1 year of playing experience or who are enrolled at CMSS in private lessons year 1-2. Join anytime. Students should have their own or a school instrument to bring to class. Please contact me if child needs to borrow an instrument.

FRIDAYS: 4:00-4:45pm BEGINNING Violin/Viola/Cello. For students in grades 2-12 who are brand new to playing a string instrument. This class will begin when we have at least 5 registered participants. Instruments will be loaned at no cost, first come first serve. Limited # instruments available.

THURSDAYS 5:00-5:45pm STRINGFIELD-an Intermediate level string ensemble for students with at least 3 years playing experience. Join anytime.

SATURDAYS 1:15-2:00 -Band: Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone-begins 11/2/24

Students in grades 2-12 in their first, second or third year of playing any band or string instrument. Join a small group class at CMSS with familiar teachers to make new friends and play more music! Students will be grouped by age and experience levels.

String Ensemble led by Eleni Yalanis and Care O'Leary. Band Ensembles led by Alton Skinner, Solomon Jones, Jesse Meche, Rick Marshall, and Carolyn DuFraine.

EXCITING NEW GROUP!

Community African Dance and Drumming-for students and their families!

Saturdays, 12:15-1:15pm Saturday African drumming and dance classes will focus on music from Ghana. We will learn rhythms, dances, and instruments of the Ewe people. All are welcome. No prior experience drumming or dancing is required. This group begins 11/2/24, and will be led by Tara Murphy and Jesey Meche.

Space is limited so please sign up asap for this exciting new class offering for students and their families. The group runs from 11/2/24-February 1, 2025. Second Semester will run from February 1, 2025- June 7, 2025. Students/Families may join for one or both semesters.

The cost for these ensembles is FREE for Sonido Musica students from any district and all Springfield and Holyoke Residents
