Submit an idea to speak at a Devs Connect event. We host talks on topics around software development, with a focus on technical talks.

Anyone can speak at one of our events - it's great to hear from people who are just starting to learn about software development - equally we will host talks from those with years of expertise and everyone in between. We can host you for your talk if you next extra help getting started, just have a few questions or are a regular event speaker who has everything they need.

About Devs Connect
Devs Connect is a group for digital professionals, students and enthusiasts to share their insights into new software technologies with each other.

We’ll arrange talks from community members who want to share their own experiences when using new technologies or frameworks, professionally, academically or personally.

We aim to create a space for people from varying levels of expertise in software development to come together and share knowledge based on a culture of inclusion and collaboration.

We'll even help you put your talk together and give you tips on public speaking if you want that extra support. How we'll store and use this information
By submitting your information on this form, you agree to the following process on handling said data.

This is a Google form and once submitted your information will be stored securely. You'll see from the form we are keeping the minimal amount of information we need which includes your name, email address, optionally your Slack username and details of the talk you're proposing. Only the Devs Connect coordinators and organisers will have access to your contact details in case they need to reach you. We ask them to have 2 factor authentication enabled on the Google account they use.

We will share your name and talk details with others from the community when planning events. Once you agree to speak at an event, your talk title, ready date and summary will be shared publicly along with publishing your name as the speaker.

You can ask us to disclose the information we store about you by emailing devsconnect1@gmail.com with the subject "SHARE ALL DATA" from the email address you submitted on the form and we'll provide it as quickly as possible by reply. Should you need to ask any other questions please contact us on our Slack workspace: https://devs-connect.slack.com or email devsconnect1@gmail.com. If for any reason you no longer have access to the email address please let us know and we'll ask you to prove your identity after we have sent confirmation to the email address.

Under normal circumstances we'll store your information for 12 months which is generally long enough to arrange any talk. We'll delete any data more than 12 months periodically through the year but can't guarantee an exact date after the anniversary. If you want us to remove the information we currently have on file about you, we are happy to oblige. Again this can be requested by emailing devsconnect1@gmail.com this time with "DELETE ALL DATA" in the subject.
