Cornwall Hugs Grenfell: Firefighters' Holiday Enquiry
We have now closed registration for 2019.
Cornwall Hugs Grenfell was set up in the wake of the fire, to offer respite holidays to those affected by Grenfell and was intended to run until 2019 in this format. It has been our joy and privilege to organise over 400 holidays for survivors, the bereaved, the displaced, support workers and firefighters. We’re a tiny charity and most of the holidays have been made possible through accommodation, transport and activities gifted by Cornish businesses and individuals and by the work of volunteers in client liaison and logistical support. We are enormously grateful to all those who have supported us in this work.
This Winter we will be reviewing our resource and local support levels to determine whether we are able to offer any holidays in the future. If we do, we will communicate this via the FBU.
In the meantime, you may like to approach the Firefighters Charity which organises respite breaks for firefighters.
We are very sorry we are not able to offer you a holiday this year, thank you for your service at Grenfell and wish you all the very best.
