2025-2026 John Yates/Frank King Leadership Scholarship Application

Each year, GAEL awards $1000.00 scholarships to GAEL members enrolled in a college or university leadership or similar preparation/development degree program.

In order to be considered for and receive the scholarship award to be presented at the Summer GAEL Conference in July, 2025, the applicant must:

· Have been a member of GAEL in good standing in the 2024-2025 school year.

· Be a current GAEL member (as of July 2025) for the 2025-2026 school year and a current member of a GAEL affiliate.

· Be currently employed as of July 2025, in a Georgia public school system as a full-time employee.

· Be scheduled to be enrolled in a university program in the FY2026 school year. (The scholarship is not retroactive to previous degrees.)

· Register for and attend the 2025 GAEL Summer Conference at Jekyll Island to receive the scholarship in person.

· Submit the completed application and support materials.

-Have 2 letters of recommendation submitted from supervisors mailed to the attention of Ben Wiggins, GAEL  Executive Director, 850 College Station Road, Athens, GA  30605 no later than 4:00 pm, June 1, 2025

The GAEL leader applying for the scholarship must be a current GAEL member, and the completed application form must be completed by 4:00 p.m., June 1, 2025.
