Our Mission - Advancing the health of Nebraskans by making breastfeeding the norm through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

Our Vision - A Nebraska where every family is supported to breastfeed through a strong, statewide network of advocates and lactation providers delivering quality, effective care - creating informed communities, equitable access, and a culture that values human milk.

A Leadership Team (LT), composed of up to 13 self-nominated individuals, guides the NE BFC and works with the membership to accomplish the goals of the coalition.

Statewide Representation
The NE BFC is a state wide organization. We aim to include and represent the wide variety of lactation providers and families via our membership, our projects, and our leadership. Our goal is to represent the unique needs of ALL Nebraskans.

I understand that the focus of the NE BFC is to represent all Nebraskans.

Clear selection
Please review the Leadership Team description as written in the current bylaws.

Per the bylaws of the NE BFC, the LT is a group of up to 13 self-nominated individuals.

Members of the LT:

  • are asked to complete a Conflict of Interest form and a LT Commitment form,
  • may serve for up to three two-year terms,
  • are expected to attend four Quarterly Member Meetings (combined with a LT meeting) and eight monthly LT meetings, either in person or virtual, and
  • agree to participate in at least one NE BFC committee or project.

A complete copy of the NE BFC’s bylaws is available for your review. Please feel free to request a copy.

Please Note: The Quarterly Meetings are currently held on the first Tuesday of February, May, August, and November. Continuing education is held from 10-11 am. A member meeting follows from 11:15 – 12:45, and a LT meeting is held from 1 – 2:30 pm. During months without a Quarterly Meeting, LT meetings are held from 1-2:30 pm on the first Tuesday of the month.

I have read the above information and I understand that by submitting this application, I am applying to be a member of the NE BFC Leadership Team. If selected, I am willing to give of my time, energy, and resources to support the mission of the Nebraska Breastfeeding Coalition.
