Course Objectives:
This course provides a foundational understanding of sustainability principles within the LEED® framework, focusing on key areas such as transportation, sustainable site development, water efficiency, energy use, materials, and indoor environmental quality. Trainees will learn how to apply these principles in real-world projects and gain the knowledge needed to excel in the LEED® Green Associate Exam. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and sample questions, participants will be thoroughly prepared to demonstrate their competency in green building practices and successfully earn the LEED® Green Associate credential.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the fundamental concepts of green buildings and sustainability in construction industry within the context of the LEED framework.
- Understand the structure of LEED rating system including the principles and strategies of the different credit categories and identify the credit synergies to maximize the compliance with the LEED requirements and strategies.
- Learn how to apply LEED standards and best practices to enhance sustainability in building projects by focusing on the key criteria such as site sustainability, energy optimization, water efficiency, material selection, and indoor living quality.
- Develop effective LEED Green Associate Exam preparation strategies by becoming familiar with the exam format, types of questions, and continuous support during and after the course to enhance the participates’ confidence and readiness to pass the exam from the first attempt.
