Applications for research and conference travel are due once per semester. For the fall semester, applications are due the first Friday in September. For the spring and summer semesters, applications are due the first Friday in February. Awards must be used in the semester in which they are awarded, or else the funding is forfeited.
Conference Funding: Students can apply for support for one conference each year. Domestic conferences are capped at $600, while international conference travel is capped at $900.
Research Funding: Students can apply for support for multiple research trips; you must submit a separate application for each trip. Support is capped at $1500 for domestic travel, and at $2500 for international travel.
Training Funding: You may request funding to cover professional training in addition to or instead of research funding. Training funding will be capped at $1500. Overall support is capped at $3100 per year per student. REQUIREMENTS:
- You must submit a Travel Authority form at least TWO WEEKS before domestic travel and at least FOUR WEEKS before international travel.- You must submit receipts within 45 days of completing travel, or by the beginning of the following semester, whichever comes first.- If you do not complete travel within the semester you received the award, the award will be forfeited.
Please inform the Graduate Student Travel Committee as soon as possible if you decide to cancel your trip.
