Concert Attendance
The public performance of the music we rehearse in class is the "final test" for choir. Everyone is required to attend the full length of their group’s concerts both as a performer and audience member. Students may not leave concerts early.
Absences:
Excused: School/Green Local sporting, or family events, family emergency, personal illness, or other extenuating circumstances. Parents/Guardians must complete the Absence Request Form (this form) one week (7 calendar days) prior to the concert (in the case of personal illness/emergency, as soon as feasible). It is the student's responsibility to see the director for a make-up assignment. Upon successful completion of the make-up assignment, the student can receive up to full assessment credit.
Unexcused: Family dinners, transportation, out of district activities, excused reasons without one week notice (when possible). It is the student's responsibility to see the director for a make-up assignment. Any credit given for the make-up assignment is up to the director's discretion.
Families are encouraged to complete this Absence Request Form as soon as they discover a conflict, but requests can be submitted up to one week prior to the concert date. Less than 7 days of notice may result in an excused absence becoming an unexcused absence.
