2021 Trailblazer Nominations
March is Women's History Month and The Oasis Center for Women & Girls has a long-standing tradition of celebrating with our annual Trailblazer Awards that recognize women and girls who are blazing a trail in our community and beyond. In true 2020 style, the 13th Annual Trailblazer Awards will be held virtually on March 1 at 4:00 pm as we kick off our month long celebration. Each year, these award winners are selected via nominations and that's what we need from you now! We are seeking female nominees for our Trailblazer Award, Unsung Shero Award and our Girls Can Do Anything Award. Nominees from all sectors and fields are welcome.

Nominations are due by January 14, 2021. Honorees will be selected by the Oasis Board of Directors, featured in the media, and presented with awards at the Trailblazer event on March 1, 2021.

While you may only nominate one person per form, please feel free to submit as many forms (nominations) as you would like.

Nomination Criteria & Description
Trailblazer Award: The Trailblazer award recognizes local women (ages 18 and over) who are shaping history by breaking through barriers and shattering glass ceilings. These women have blazed a trail in many different sectors, making the road easier for other women who follow. Often trailblazers were one of the first or few women in their field at the time as they made a lasting impact. Being one of the first women of a certain social group (race, age, religion, disability status, etc.) to pave the way for other diverse women is also relevant and considered.

Unsung Shero Award: Women make a difference in all aspects of our community - but some contributions are more thankless than others! Most awards are designed to recognize women’s leadership in the public sphere and in the spotlight—their leadership as a business owner, philanthropist, teacher, trailblazer, etc. The Unsung Shero award is designed to honor the behind-the-scenes contributions women make that help create a better world for us all. This could be what they contribute to their family, work, school or community that is unlikely to be recognized by traditional leadership awards.

Girls Can Do Anything! Award: The Girls Can Do Anything! award is designed to recognize a local trailblazing girl (under the age of 18). Like adult Trailblazers, these girls have made a difference in their schools and community by doing something to pave the way for other young girls to follow.
