SEPAC Application 2025-26

The Bernards Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to guide our work for the 2025-2026 School Year.

What is the Special Education Parent Advisory Council?
Bernards SEPAC is a parent-led, state-mandated group focused on policies, practices and programs affecting the education, health and safety of children receiving services under an IEP or 504 plan from Bernards Township. The SEPAC Executive Board works closely with BTSD administrators and BOE to share feedback, identify trends and collaborate on improving the Special Education experience for all families.

Unsure of how you'd like to get involved?
Whether you are passionate about making a difference for special education students as a whole or specifically at your child's school, there is a position for you on the Bernards Special Education Parent Advisory Council.

What is the role of SEPAC Executive Board Members?
Bernards SEPAC Executive Board Members work on projects to enhance communication and collaboration within the district, provide additional parent training opportunities, and increase school-wide understanding and inclusion of our students in all areas of school life. SEPAC Executive Board Members work collaboratively with Special Services Supervisors, District Administration, and BOE members focusing on policies, practices and programs affecting the education, health and safety of children receiving services under an IEP or 504 plan from Bernards Township.

What is the role of SEPAC School Liaisons?
SEPAC school liaisons act as essential contacts and resources for special education families at their school. They identify concerns and communicate them to the Executive Board, attend regular SEPAC meetings, and provide updates on special education issues. In addition, they support the school's PTO by attending board meetings and fostering collaboration.

Join SEPAC, where your voice matters, and every child’s success is our mission!

Applications are due by June 6, 2025
