High Risk Work Licences across NSW will be digitalised from the 7th May 2025 onwards. This will change the process for students and has minimum requirements.

BEFORE undertaking a HRWL assessment, a student will be required to:

-Have access to a device and internet connection

-Have access to a valid email account

-Log in to their Service NSW account via a browser NOT the app (if they don't already have one, they will need to create one)

-Undertake a digital proof of identity check

-Register for a HRWL assessment. This will generate an Assessment Enrolment Number (AEN) in the Service NSW account which will be emailed to the student. The AEN is valid for 30 days from the date it was created. You will need to choose the HRWL assessment class which will be 'LF Forklift.'

-Provide their HRWL assessor with one form of approved photo identification on the day of their assessment

-Provide their HRWL assessor with the AEN number emailed to the student from Service NSW

If you create your AEN now, you will be be able to skip several proof of identity questions included in this application form.

A student can then undertake their HRWL assessment, and:

-If successful, receive a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment via email (a document saying that they passed their assessment.) If the student is unsuccessful, they will receive an Assessment Summary which can be used for 60 days to undertake a reassessment in the area/s they were unsuccessful in.

-Visit a Service NSW Centre within 60 days of the assessment to process their licence application which will include having their photo taken and paying the licence application fee

-Receive their HRWL card in the mail

The approved proof of identity documents used to register for a High Risk Work Licence assessment in the Service NSW portal are not necessarily the same as the photo identification that can be supplied to the High Risk Work Licence assessor. Please refer to www.assesstolift.com.au for further information.

Any student unable to meet the Proof of Identity requirements for digital verification in the Service NSW portal must contact Service NSW. Assess to Lift will assist in whatever way we can, but unfortunately we have no authority when it comes to this.

Students who lack the digital skills or access to a device or internet to register for a High Risk Work Licence assessment can arrange to have an Assess to Lift team member assist them with this process.

We recommend that all students register for their High Risk Work Licence assessment in the Service NSW portal BEFORE they commence their course so that any problems can be fixed before their scheduled assessment.
