To avoid training and competition clashes and in order to fulfil the required commitment to their respective teams, the Sports Department strongly advises that Junior School students play no more than two sports codes per season. Please note that students are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions per week for each sport unless alternative arrangements have been made with the Head of Rugby. Failure to do this may result in reduced playing time. Teams will be selected on commitment of students attending practices and ability. Students must contact their coach if they cannot attend practice. Consideration will be given to students in the case of injury or illness.
SEASON:Terms 2 and 3
TRAININGSOne lunchtime per week.
NOTE: Development of all students signing up for rugby will continue through regular practice sessions. In the event of large interest, manageable team numbers will be necessary for tournament days. Teams will be decided on: commitment of students attending practices or (contacting the coach if they cannot attend), injury or illness, and ability.
UNIFORM: PE shorts and provided Kristin Rugby jersey. Bare feet and compulsory mouth guard. Players own casual rugby shorts and jerseys for trainings.
Players who do not adhere to the Code of Conduct will be referred to the Sports office by the coach or manager. Continual inappropriate behaviour will result in a stand down period.
As a parent, supporter, or official I have a responsibility to my child and the sporting community to always behave in a positive supportive manner towards all personnel involved in sport, in both Kristin and opposing teams, parents and officials.
