Entry fee $100 per team by check or cash, $105 online, maximum of 20 teams. No refunds unless event is cancelled by The Chamber. Fee waived with $500 sponsorship or $1000 membership. *
Set up any time from 7-9AM on Saturday, August 30th at assigned location. *
Meats are to be prepared on site. Canopies or ceilings are required over stations. Contest will be held in the designated area at the north end of the Big Four Fairgrounds. *
The BBQ Committee will provide 1 case of ribs (12 racks), chicken thighs (subject to change if MN BBQ eligible event) (12), bacon (2 pounds), and NEW this year a MYSTERY box to each team. Meat quantities may be reduced if we receive more than 12 teams. *
Contestants are required to furnish coolers and ice to store uncooked meats

Contestants must provide small table, cutting board & knife to serve meats to the public.

There will be a team captain meeting at 8:00AM under the Big 4 Chamber tent prior to distributing meat. *
Meats reserved for certified judging will be determined at the Team meeting. *
All Meat must be prepared.

All meats not distributed to judges will be redeemed by ballot or ticket only. 
* One rib per VIP ballot

A three-tub wash stations (hot water (available) & dish detergent/unscented chlorine bleach) is required for utensils *
Separate hand washing station required and must include hot water, hand soap, and paper towels *

Contest and Judging times will be as follows:
a. Mystery Box - 11:45AM
b. Chicken Judging - 3:00PM or Bacon
c. Rib Judging - 3:30PM or Chicken
d. Bacon Judging -4:00PM or Ribs
e. VIP Judging - 4:30PM
f. A la Carte - 5:15 PM

Contestants may use wood, charcoal, gas, or electric. *
Iowa BBQ Society (IBS) Backyard Sanctioned rules apply. Whether sanctioned or not. *
Generators will be required if electricity is needed. *
Clean up may begin after 5:30PM, but ribs for judging must be available until 6:15PM *
The awards will be given at approximately 6:00PM. 
Must be present to win. 
Blind Judging Pick (Two categories awarded--one chicken & one rib): 
1st Place ($125); 
2nd Place ($75); 
3rd Place ($50); 
Grand Prize (Highest total combined points for 2 categories) - $200; 
Reserve Prize (Highest total combined points for 2 categories) - $100; 
VIP People’s Choice (Ribs only) – Free entry into next year; 
Anything BACON - $100
Mystery box (not included in IBS points!) - $100
