Climate Organizer Application

About Climate Reality Campus Corps: The Climate Reality Campus Corps’ 100% Committed campaign aims to build a powerful network of student leaders working to seize the opportunity and to drive a shift to clean, renewable electricity on campuses across the nation. Our goal is to not only achieve critical emissions reductions that send a signal to the rest of the country, but build a nationwide climate movement that is led by college students. Policies from the federal level are scarier than ever, which makes it more critical than ever that we take action locally.

Position Description: The Climate Reality Campus Coordinator will work side by side with Climate Reality Project’s National Field Director to help coordinate the following projects:

• Gather petition signatures to convince your University to commit to 100% Renewable Electricity by 2030
• Recruit fellow students to work with you on the campaign.
• Communicate with the Field Team: Coordinators will work with students around the country via video meetings and chats, trainings run by skilled staff, and by reporting back to the larger team regularly.
• Work with the media, campus sustainability directors, faculty, and University Presidents to push the campaign on your campus.

Hours: The start and end dates are flexible, although most coordinators begin in January and goes through May. Coordinators work between 5-8 hours/week, and the level of commitment can be tailored to your schedule. The hours will include a weekly one-hour planning meeting with the Field Director and a weekly one-hour meeting with the other coordinators around the country.

Qualifications: We are looking for students who are serious about saving the planet, have experience working with environmental or social change issues, and have demonstrated leadership experience.
Benefits: This opportunity us unpaid, but coordinators gain valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit management, work with talented staff, can earn course credit, and make a big difference
