Position Description: The Climate Reality Campus Coordinator will work side by side with Climate Reality Project’s National Field Director to help coordinate the following projects:
• Gather petition signatures to convince your University to commit to 100% Renewable Electricity by 2030• Recruit fellow students to work with you on the campaign.• Communicate with the Field Team: Coordinators will work with students around the country via video meetings and chats, trainings run by skilled staff, and by reporting back to the larger team regularly. • Work with the media, campus sustainability directors, faculty, and University Presidents to push the campaign on your campus.
Hours: The start and end dates are flexible, although most coordinators begin in January and goes through May. Coordinators work between 5-8 hours/week, and the level of commitment can be tailored to your schedule. The hours will include a weekly one-hour planning meeting with the Field Director and a weekly one-hour meeting with the other coordinators around the country.
Qualifications: We are looking for students who are serious about saving the planet, have experience working with environmental or social change issues, and have demonstrated leadership experience.Benefits: This opportunity us unpaid, but coordinators gain valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit management, work with talented staff, can earn course credit, and make a big difference
