Take the time to read this page--it contains useful information and there are a few changes for this year.

STUDENT REGISTRATION
- If you have more than one child to register, please fill this registration form for each child SEPARATELY.

EVENT REGISTRATION: Please review the following announcements.

- Each student can indicate his/her interest in up to 4 events. Most students will practice in 1-2 events, but if space allows a 3rd practice event will be considered.

- Practice teams will be slightly larger than competition teams. Competition team selection will occur in March. Students will earn positions on the competition team based on their participation, positive team attitude, and coach evaluation for that event. If a student is placed on an event's competition team, the team will be relying on them to complete the full season and compete in that event.
- Registration is open until January 13th, 2025. Teams will be assigned prior to the start of practices, based on student requests. Students who respond earlier will be given preference until events fill.
- Practices will start in early February and more details (specific event schedules, locations, coach information, etc.) will be notified later.
- Event coaches will send out detailed information prior to the beginning of practice.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS
- Parent volunteer participation in some capacity is mandatory. WESO requires that we provide a large number of volunteers on May 10th, so please be prepared to be available to volunteer that day.
- Each coach must complete a background check with King School. 

COVID SAFETY
- We will follow CDC and District policy regarding COVID safety.

- Students with any potential COVID symptoms must avoid attending practice.
- If a student tests positive for COVID, parents must notify the head coach team (kingscienceolympiad@gmail.com).

WESO PARTICIPATION WAIVER  

- WESO *requires* a photo release. It was too difficult in the past to ensure that specific students did not appear in WESO photos. Parents MUST authorize photo release.

- In addition to providing our King Head Coaches with the registration information, there is a link (called Waiverfile) in this sign up to submit your registration also to WESO. Completion of this step is mendatory to participate in the program.

- WESO will communicate with Head Coaches to verify that all participants have completed the necessary forms before the tournament.
