Qualify for Financial Assistance:

Applicants must qualify for funding resources through the Missouri Job Centers or other agencies in order to attend training.

If you are wanting to apply for funding through a local job center, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program may cover the cost of the program for those who qualify. Our CMT class is approved by the state and listed in the state’s ETPS system under STL Training. Inform the Job Center contact that you want to attend STL Training’s CMT class and they will assist with the application process. Contact information is below.

ITEMS THE MO Job Center WILL NEED TO QUALIFY YOU FOR WIOA FUNDING TO COVER THE COST OF THE PROGRAM.

1. Your Driver’s License
2. Your Social Security Card
3. Work Keys Scores (within a year IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE TEST at a JOB CENTER) If you have not completed this test please contact the Job Center to sign up for a date to take the Work Keys test.
4. Any proof of government assistance, i.e. Food Stamps, Unemployment Insurance
5. Proof of the last six months income, W-2, year to date check stub
6.    You MUST have high school diploma/transcripts, GED, or HSET
7.    Birth certificate

Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Program
The purpose of the Certified Medication Technician (CMT) training program is to prepare individuals for employment as a CMT in an intermediate care or skilled care nursing facility. The program is designed to teach skills in administration of non-parenteral medications that will qualify students to perform this procedure to assist licensed practical nurses or registered professional nurses in medication therapy.

This nine-week program consists of at least 60 classroom hours of instruction and a minimum of 8-hours of clinical practice under the direct supervision of an instructor. Instruction includes: basic review of body systems and medication effect on each system; medical terminology; infection control; and medication classifications. * 8 hour practicum to be arranged by instructor.

Students must successfully compete a final written examination and a minimum two-hour final practicum exam before a certificate can be issued. Upon successful completion of the program and testing, students' names will be placed on the Missouri State Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Registry.

Student Qualifications:
Verification of a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
Listed as active on the Missouri CNA registry and employed as an approved Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for at least six (6) months prior to enrollment in the CMT course.
Submits a letter to the training agency from the student's administrator or director of nursing recommending the student take the course or a letter from a previous long-term care employer if unemployed.
