This forum’s tradition is to heavily emphasize discussion and peer learning. Thus, our sessions will not have PowerPoint but rather peer-to-peer dialogue. This year’s session categories will include:
• Education, reengagement, and completion strategies • Emerging practices in serving opportunity youth with disabilities • Engaging and employing active gang members• Improving employment outcomes for undocumented young people• Leveraging national service in comprehensive youth employment strategies• Other Session types should fit in one of three categories:
• Best practice workshop: Presentation style session sharing best practices in a topic area. These sessions will preferable include 20-25 min presentation followed by Q&A and discussion.
• Facilitated discussion: Presentation kept to 10 minutes per presenter with at least half of the session dedicated to discussion and exchange among attendees.
• Real-time problem solving: A specific problem is presented allowing attendees to exchange pertinent dialogue, insights and experiences with presenter listening. Presentation of problem is kept to 15 minutes or less, attendees discuss, and presenter wraps up with reflection and further discussion.
