  • Improves youth mental health because it builds confidence and gives strength to those who have experienced discrimination and increases understanding of diversity.

By signing up for a speaker series event, you must agree with this statement: As a educator, I pledge to the Day4Diversity Pledge, and I understand that I am a History, English, AVID, or Ethnic Studies Middle School or High School Teacher who will work with my subject department staff to have as many of the subject department classes have their students attend my chosen speaker series event (1 of the 7 themes) in the school’s MPR or library during one class period in order to officially become a Day4Diversity Teacher.                                                                                                                                                                              Example: A History Teacher works with the other two History Teachers at the school to arrange a date for a DIU speaker event during 2nd period on Monday May 5 in the school library. All three History classes have a 2nd period class, the students all go to the library during 2nd period, so there are 90+ students at the speaker event. (30 students from each class) *
