Southside ReLeaf is partnering with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to give away 200 *free* trees to Southside Richmond  residents! Trees will be picked up in-person on Saturday, October 16 at the Hickory Hill Community Center between 9 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Individuals with limited mobility or transportation will need trees delivered and/or planted. Homeowners will select a window for their trees to be delivered and/or planted. If planting assistance is required, volunteers will consult with homeowners on the location where trees will be planted.

Trees will be delivered and planted on the following weekends:

• Saturday, October 16 + Sunday, October 17
• Saturday, October 23 + Sunday, October 24
• Saturday, October 30

Here’s how you can help:

• Onsite giveaway (October 16): Sign up for a shift at our distribution site (Hickory Hill) to give away trees for people who signed up and for walk-ups

• Plant trees: Help homeowners who need assistance to plant trees in the right place

• Tree delivery: Drop off trees at Southside residences to help neighbors with limited transportation or mobility

• Tree check-up: Make sure trees survive their first year by checking in with residents and providing care.
