By the end of the first week of classes, the department chair will make any ceiling exceptions on a case-by-case basis. The department prioritizes placing as many students as possible in an appropriate class over placing a smaller number of students in their first choice class.
This form is used to document your request so that exceptions can be made fairly, considering your need for a particular course. Only if all other factors are equal will the date and time of your request be considered. You will be contacted by email if you are approved for a ceiling exception.
