MAT and CSC Ceiling Exception Request
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science does not keep "waiting lists" for classes. Rather, we encourage you to attend the class, do all the assignments, and continue to try and add the course during the first week of the semester. We also encourage you to consider alternative courses in the department, and to speak to your academic advisor, the course instructor, and the chair of the department about which course(s) might best meet your needs.

By the end of the first week of classes, the chair will make any ceiling exceptions on a case-by-case basis. The department prioritizes placing as many students as possible in an appropriate class over placing a smaller number of students in their first choice class.

This form is used to document your request so that exceptions can be made fairly, considering your need for a particular course. Only if all other factors are equal will the date and time of your request be considered. You will be contacted by email if you are approved for a ceiling exception.

*** Please fill out a separate form for each course you are requesting. ***

*** Please email the department chair (mimossinghoff@davidson.edu) to withdraw your request if you are able to add the course on your own, or if you decide not to take the requested course. ***

By checking the box below, you are certifying that you have read and will follow all of the instructions and guidelines above.
