City Parks Foundation: Ambassador Application
City Parks Foundation (CPF) is the only independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to offer programs in public parks throughout the five boroughs of New York City. At CPF we transform parks into dynamic centers of urban life through sports, community building, environmental education and arts. CityParks SummerStage is New York City’s largest, free outdoor performing arts festival, bringing 100 music, dance and spoken word performances to Central Park and 17 other neighborhood parks each summer.

We're looking for energetic, outgoing people to assist the Marketing department in promoting CPF's programs and events. Ambassadors will participate in neighborhood gatherings, large scale events across all five boroughs, and canvas neighborhoods to promote all of our programming. We are looking for ambassadors with familiarity living and/ or working in the Bronx, Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.

- This is part time, seasonal contract role based in New York
- Most shifts take place from March through October
- Ambassadors submit monthly availability for at least 2-3 shifts

- Represent CPF at events, music and dance shows, parks, etc.
- Execute events from start to finish including coordinating with on-site contact; booth set up and break down; leading interactive activities for attendees; sharing program information; collecting email addresses; and passing out materials and branded giveaways, etc.
- Assist at CPF events such as SummerStage, PuppetMobile performances, summer track meet, etc.
- Help create a lively atmosphere while actively listening to attendees and connecting them to CPF programs
- Distribute flyers and printed materials in neighborhood businesses or along the street
- Communicate effectively with Team Manager while onsite and before/ after shifts
- Provide documentation and constructive feedback after completing shifts

- Familiarity with NYC metropolitan area
- Friendly, outgoing demeanor with good listening skills and confidence speaking with new people
- Ability to work in a team dynamic, maintain composure, and stay energetic for long events
- Aptitude for following instructions and problem solving on the spot
- At least 1-2 years of experience on a street team or event experience
- Tech savvy (must use an iPad for newsletter registration and phone for photos)
- Physical ability to stand for multiple hours and lift at least 40 pounds
- Willingness to work outside in undesirable weather (hot, cold, rainy, etc).
- Must be 18+ years old
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus - particularly Spanish
