Trinity College, Hartford, CT
Dates: Oct. 11-12, 2012

The 2012 Higher Education Edition of the Horizon Report (http://net.educause.edu/ir/library/pdf/HR2012.pdf) is this year’s annual fall conference theme. First launched in 2002, and published annually, each Horizon Report is the culmination of the year-long effort of the New Media Consortium and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) to assess and report on emerging technologies and their short-term and long-term implication for teaching and learning.

For 2012 they have identified six key trends within the following time frames for adoption by institutions of higher education:

One year or less

• Mobile apps
• Tablet computing

Two to three years

• Game-based learning
• Learning analytics

Four to five years

• Gesture-based computing
• Internet of things

We invite technology professionals and faculty to submit proposals that address any of these key trends, especially as they relate to:

• Research
• Teaching practices
• Learning environments
• Language, culture, and digital humanities
• Learning support services, both physical and virtual

Submission deadline: September 4, 2012
