Your film must meet ALL criteria below:-Films must not be longer than ten (10) minutes.-Films must have been completed in the current OR past academic year (summer 2013-spring 2015) while living on the Hill or in University Apartments.-Person submitting must be: a current UCLA student, the main visionary (writer, director, producer), AND must be currently living on the Hill (or University Apartments), to be eligible to receive a prize. -Note: If the main visionary does NOT live on the Hill/University Apartments, their film is still eligible to be screened but NOT to receive a prize.-Limit of two (2) submissions per filmmaker. Both submissions must fulfill all requirements.-Films screened in other festivals/venues are allowed to be submitted to First Take. -No graphic violence or explicit sexual content, no excessive foul language. -Must be original content: no copyrighted material (i.e., music, graphics) unless permission was acquired and can be documented.-Filmmaker retains ALL rights to the film!
Studio 22 reserves the right to determine if an entry fulfills these content requirements. You may choose to submit an alternate cut that meets these requirements. Failure to adhere to these requirements may impact your film's chance of being selected.
Note: You are NOT required to have attended any of the First Take workshops offered throughout this school year in order to be eligible to screen your film at the First Take Film Festival.
Deadline to submit is Friday, May 1st, 2015 by 11:59pm. Film festival is Friday, May 15, 2015 from 7-9pm.
Your film file must be less than 2GB. Upload it to Dropbox, Google Drive, Vimeo, unlisted on YouTube, or something similar, then share it with uclaStudio22@gmail.com.
