On June 30th, I will be hosting a virtual workshop for pregnant folks who identify as plus size or fat (we are opening it up to US size 14 and above). All genders are welcome but this will be geared towards the birthing parent specifically.
I'm gathering this space to intentionally have a place to talk about being pregnant while in a larger body. We will share our experiences, learn new coping tools, and build community. We will refrain from talk about dieting or losing weight, and we will be honest about what it means to go through this intense period of life while in a larger body. This is a totally weight neutral zone, and we will agree to a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach. We will also be thoughtful about healthism and ableism, too.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker and I practice therapy in CA. I focus my therapy work on body acceptance, helping clients heal body shame and eating disorders. I am now six months postpartum myself and I have had a hard time finding supportive spaces that do not include body shaming talk. So I'm creating this space to be safe and welcoming for larger bodies!
To register, complete the form below and please submit payment. You can email me for any questions you have at stilescounseling@gmail.com. The workshop will be held on zoom and you will be sent the link upon registration and payment completion.
Cost is $99.
Monday June 30th, 430-630 pm PST.
I'm looking forward to connecting with you all!
