Help Shape Lorain’s Food Future! This workshop is organized by Food Forward Lorain and the City of Lorain with support from Agritecture and TSW as part of a USDA grant to strengthen and improve urban agriculture.
Join neighbors, community leaders, and food-growing experts for a hands-on workshop where we’ll design practical ideas for growing food right here in Lorain. You don’t need to be a farmer or designer—just bring your ideas, creativity, and willingness to learn and work as a team.
📅 Date: October 25th, 2025
Time: 8AM - 8 PM
What We’ll Do
-Work in small teams to design an urban farm or garden for an actual Lorain site
-Learn about different farming models and technologies and how to make them work
-Use tools like Agritecture Designer to explore crop yields, costs, and benefits of greenhouses and vertical farms
-End the day by pitching your team’s idea at Lorain Brewing Co. to the public
Why It Matters
Lorain has thousands of empty lots that could be turned into thriving gardens, farms, and community spaces. This is your chance to help turn ideas into real projects that can improve health, boost the local economy, and bring people together.
