Building Unity for Nonviolent Action Solidarity Statement:
We, the undersigned, recognize that much of the current (2025–2026) U.S. government is increasingly engaging in cruel, unlawful, and violent actions including enforced disappearances, unlawful deportations, family separation, murder, and other acts of repression targeting immigrants, trans people, other marginalized communities and their allies. Internationally, the U.S. is illegally waging warfare, using our military force to overthrow elected governments, carrying out extrajudicial killings, and supporting genocide and other war crimes without congressional approval.
U.S.-funded agencies that once protected human, environmental, and public health—at home and abroad—have been dismantled. As the economy declines and the costs of food, housing, childcare, and healthcare soar, the wealthiest one percent grow vastly richer through subsidies, tax breaks, and the exploitation of workers.
As people committed to justice, democracy, freedom, peace, sustainability, compassion, and the rule of law, we call on people everywhere to nonviolently resist these cruel and dangerous policies and to actively build a united movement capable of realizing a true democracy—of the people and for the people—grounded in equity, sustainability, and nonviolence.
We support Building Unity for Nonviolent Action in creating a coordinated, disciplined, and nonviolent response to the rise of violence, fear, hatred, and the increasing attacks on civil liberties and the rule of law in the U.S and internationally.
