Kate's Studio is an inclusive space for anyone, anywhere, who wants to learn to play the bass.
Kate Alexandra (she/her) teaches double bass, music theory, aural skills, and chamber music to beginner and advanced students. Based in Chicago, IL, USA, she currently accepts students worldwide.
A central tenant to her teaching philosophy is removing barriers for students to access quality music education. Kate is a member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) studio committee, a studio teacher liaison at IL ASTA, and a life member of the International Society of Bassists. In 2019, Kate received her DMA in double bass performance and cognate in arts administration from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.
Private lessons are charged individually at a rate of $90/hour and are payable by check, credit, or debit card. A sliding scale is offered to students and families who are enduring financial hardship. To schedule a lesson, please complete this registration form.
