Nomination Form for TAP Network Steering Committee
Over its year of service, the TAP Network Steering Committee will help guide the advocacy priorities for the TAP Network, and will take decisions regarding the governance of the TAP Network, as necessary.

The TAP Network Steering Committee is comprised of organizations, and not individuals, however focal points for each organization on the steering committee should be identified to streamline each organization’s engagement with its peers.

A total of five organizations will serve on the TAP Network Steering Committee, including two from the global south.

Each Steering Committee Member must be able to dedicate roughly 5 hours per week working as part of the TAP Network Steering Committee, and have the ability to take quick decisions that are representative of the broader TAP Network's views.

Nominations for the Steering Committee are open to any organization listed on the TAP Network mailing list/google group (as of 1 April), which can be found here: http://bit.ly/1F2APhM

NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH WEDNESDAY, 15 APRIL

The primary objectives of the Steering Committee are to, inter alia:
• provide overall guidance for the TAP Network and the TAP Coordinators, particularly helping guide advocacy priorities on policy and strategic issues;
• represent the TAP Network and take decisions on various action items that require quick turnaround or responses, or other situations, as needed;
• build consensus on core issues facing the group for the post-2015 agenda (e.g. a Joint Statements, Partnerships, Regional Representation, what is needed for successful Outreach and Advocacy);
• build relationships and trust between all participants in the initiative;
• mobilize actions and concrete outputs that will strengthen the overall credibility, visibility and influence of the TAP Network;
• decide on criteria and guidelines for members or partners within the TAP Network, if there are any questions that arise;
• review TAP Network budget and expenditures, as appropriate;
• decide on thematic working groups, as appropriate, with inputs from official members of the TAP Network.

In order to fulfill its duties on the TAP Network Steering Committee, your organization must possess:
• ability to seek the consensus of the constituency beyond organizational, national and regional interests, while maintaining a strong ethical standard;
• sufficient time and willingness to consult widely with other civil society organizations and representatives within the TAP Network in order to canvass views and opinions in a transparent, accountable and participatory manner;
• sufficient authority and ability to speak with conviction on behalf of their organization and other civil society representatives/networks at meetings;
• collaborative and partnership-driven spirit, and appreciation for the diversity of views from various civil society organizations and stakeholders;
• ownership for the TAP Network's work, as well as the work of the steering committee;
• sound experience in dealing with a wide spectrum of stakeholder groups.

TAP Network Steering Committee Members are expected to:
• be available and flexible for regular calls with the Steering Committee and the TAP Coordinators;
• engage collaboratively with their peers on the Steering Committee, and with others from within the TAP Network;
• demonstrate the principles of the network (transparency, accountability and participation) in their work with the Steering Committee;
• report back regularly to wider TAP Network on decisions and outcomes of meetings, and consult with TAP organizations on the steering committee's work;
• dedicate roughly 5 hours per week working as part of the TAP Steering Committee.
