2024-2025 PTA Volunteer Opportunities
The Windsor PTA is looking for volunteers for the 2024-2025 school year! 

Please review the list of volunteer opportunities and indicate any programs/areas you would like to be involved in or learn more about. You will be connected with the appropriate Committee Chair or Windsor Staff member in the near future for more details on how you can help. 

In addition, there are many areas where we are looking for Committee Co-Chairs, so please indicate if you would be willing to step into that role. For more information, please reach out to Suchi Joshi Soni (vp2@windsorpta.org).

Room Representative
Room Representatives are responsible for coordinating classroom volunteers for class parties, class workshops, special events,  and/or any other help a teacher might need throughout the school year.  

If you would like to be considered for the position of Room Representative for your child's classroom, please fill out this separate form.
ABC/25 Foundation 
ABC/25 Foundation provides teacher grants and scholarships to District 25 schools. To learn more about the ABC Foundation, please visit https://abc25.org.
Activity Night (for Kindergarten & 1st Grade)
Assist with activities organized for a one-hour, weeknight, grade-specific activity night. 
Book Fair

Thursday, Feb 5th & 6th
Assist w/ set-up, take down, and/or work during the sale (multiple time slots available – afternoon and evening). 

A sign-up genius will be sent out closer to the event date.
Science and Engineering Fair

Thursday, Feb 6th
Help with the planning and execution of the Science & Engineering Fair on February 6th from 6:30-7:30 PM
5th Grade Committee
Volunteers are needed for many roles, such as 5th Grade Breakfast, T-shirts, Memory Video, Class Pictures, Banner, etc. Sign-up here to get more information from the Committee Chairs in the Fall.
Green Team
Various garden and ecology lunchtime activities with the kids. Help with planting day, harvesting, watering and other activities with the kids. Typically meets 1x month in the LMC during lunchtime recess (12:00-1:00).
Spirit Wear
Assist with organizing and distributing spirit wear orders to students in the Fall.
Veterans Day Breakfast

Monday, Nov 11th
An annual Windsor tradition to honor our Veterans. Help with set-up and day-of the event.
Welcome Committee
Assist with activities welcoming new families to Windsor.
Windsor Cares
Assist Committee Chairs with community service-oriented projects and events, such as our Halloween Costume Drive and Winter Coat Drive.
World of Work

Friday, May 23rd
5th Grade Students spend 2 hours on 5/23/25 "working" in a downtown Arlington Heights business. Volunteers are needed to chaperone at each of the assigned businesses. A sign-up genius will be created closer to the event date.
Family Movie Night 

Friday, Sept 27th
Assist the committee chairs with set up and running of this outdoor family movie event.
Every Wildcat Counts

Our Windsor PTA's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee that works directly alongside our PTA President and PTA Executive Committee to ensure all our PTA programs and activities are diverse, equitable, and inclusive. The Committee meets once every 2 months with our PTA President and members of our Executive Committee (for a total of 4-5 times a year).

Multicultural Week 

Mon - Fri, March 10th-14th 
A weeklong celebration of multicultural activities in all of our Specials classes (Art, PE, LMC, Music). Parents are needed to assist in classes throughout the day for this eventful week.  Sign-ups with more specific time slots will be sent out closer to the event.
Windsor's World 

Thursday, March 13th
Parents are needed to help set-up display boards, help with check-in, and take pictures at the photo booth during our yearly event celebrating our Windsor community.
Spring Fling 

Friday, May 30th
End of the year outdoor event with many fun activities  for our students and their families.  Volunteers are needed to set up and run the event.
Vision and Hearing Screening

Assist Mrs. Carpenter with vision and hearing screenings for students.  Parents are needed to escort classes to and from testing.  Morning and afternoon slots are available. Dates TBD in the Fall.
Picture Day

Help on the following dates:

Bingo Night Fundraiser

Saturday, Oct 5th
Help with organizing and setting up our first annual Bingo Night Fundraiser on 10/5/25 from 5:00 to 8:30 PM at the Arlington Ale House.

Help with organizing and setting up our second annual Trivia Night Fundraiser.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Mon - Fri, May 5th to 9th
Assist with organizing thank you notes, spirit days, etc during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Junior Great Books
Lead small group literature discussions (Jan-Mar) during lunch recess. Group meets 1x/week for 8 weeks. The session/group can be shared by two or more leaders.  *Training is provided to our parent leaders.   
We are also currently looking for 1 more Co-Chair for this Committee.
Running club
Assist with running club meetings after school. We have a lead who is looking for 1-2 other parents that would be willing to help out.  We are also looking for 1 more Co-Chair for this Committee.
Hospitality
Assist Committee Chair as needed. Set-up food & refreshments for various activities/events such as back-to-school luncheon and teacher conferences. Also may be asked to help set up/break down events. Please note: You do not provide all the food as part of this committee; just help organize and set-up. A sign-up genius may be created to help with donations for a specific event. We are also currently looking for 1 more Co-Chair for this Committee.
Chess Club

Every Friday, starting Sept 27th, 3:45 PM
Run by Chess Wizards, but organized by the PTA. We are looking for one other Co-Chair as well as parent volunteers to check-in students.

LMC - Coordinator & Volunteer

The LMC Volunteer Coordinator will work with our Windsor librarians, Ms. Amy Reed and Ms. Jenny Scapilato, to create a Sign-Up Genius to schedule times for parents to come into the LMC to volunteer. LMC Volunteers will assist librarians with re-shelving books and help students during their scheduled LMC time, as needed.
